Early in 2023, I began using Midjourney to imagine video game arcade machines. It started as an exercise to get comfy with the nuances of prompting in a wide variety of subjects and styles, but the concept of a wild arcade filled with the most bizarre video games from across infinite universes soon emerged, and generating more and more designs became addictive.

GenAI can give you a solid foundation, but the results still aren’t good enough to be considered ‘finished’ straight out of the prompt box. I generated names and game ideas based on the images and created gameplay screenshots and logos for each cabinet before bringing them to life with Runway and After Effects.
