I’ve spent almost the entirety of my career, or about 15 years, at a place called Big Spaceship. From a fresh-out-of-school designer to the Group Design Director, I learned and developed my skills alongside and within a company that also learned and developed as culture, technology and the industry continuously twisted and shifted.
I led a soft refresh of the Big Spaceship brand starting with an updated site with two main objectives: modernize the design to reflect the company’s modern collaborative philosophies, and make it dead simple to update with new work.
The design allows for full screen video features on the homepage as a quick way to push new projects to the front. A persistent menu button along the bottom edge opens up access to the rest of the site.
The site works best on mobile, putting the controls of the site at your thumbtips.
Concurrent with the site design, I began to build out the pieces to a new and much needed brand manual to be used as a source of truth moving forward.
I extended the brand system to these mockups for proposed signage around the office.
Some glass rooms just need a lil privacy.
A set of pixel icons designed for use on business cards. Every crew member got to choose which icon they wanted on their own card.
